Geoffrey A. Haveman – Lawyer
Geoff is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and the University of Michigan Law School, and has practiced as lawyer in western Michigan now — and previously in the Detroit metro area as a solo attorney and as part of a firm — since 2005. Geoff has also been working on a project on law libraries in territorial Michigan, 1783-1837 with the history department at Western Michigan University.
Geoffhas consulted thousands of clients and participated in many bankruptcy cases, he also actively helps numerous small businesses and individuals achieve their business and estate planning goals.
In addition, Geoff has volunteered at the Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan, the Mediation Center of Holland and served as a Court appointed mediator. He has also volunteered with Freedom House Detroit practicing immigration and asylum law and sat on the board of the Zeeland Historical Society. He enjoys teaching, as a former teaching assistant at Western Michigan University as an instructor and tutor for n classes preparing students for standardized tests.
Geoff grew up on a dairy farm in western Michigan — in his free time he enjoys reading, helping students with standardized test preparation, ice skating, bicycling around, reading, projects with his son, and spending time with his beautiful wife and four small children.
